You should have too much for the jug. Put the hot leftovers in a mug with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for Apple Pie a-la-mode.

Ma Boone's Dutch Apple Pie

1/2 gallon apple juice
1 gallon apple cider
8 sticks cinnamon
3 cups sugar
1 fifth Everclear

The mixing vessel makes the difference; I use my Graniteware canner & stir with a wooden spoon. Aluminum or plastic makes for a tinny taste.
Place the sugar, apple liquids and cinnamon sticks in the pan, bring heat up to just before boiling, but do not let it boil! Hold that heat for about 2 hours or until 1/2 gallon of water vaper has escaped. Cool completely. Stir in the Everclear. Transfer to glass jars, I use canning jars. Let it set for 2 weeks for optimum flavor and folks will wonder how the buttery crust got there!
Of course, the Irish sample a wee bit while aging to make sure it is palatable! Enjoy!

Idaho Apple Pie

1 gallon cider or juice
bag of cinnimon red hots candy
2 or 3 cinnimon sticks
Whiskey or rum or whatever suits ya

Pour off enough of the cider or juice to accomodate yer favorite brand of who-hit-john. Mix em.
Add candy and cinnimon sticks.
Let age at least until the red hots all melt.
If you get white waxy flakes settled on the bottom after the red hots melt, it's cause some brands of red hots are wax coated, woudn't hurt ya none, but you can strain em out if ya want to.

Mom's Apple Pie

3 gallons Apple Juice
1/2 gal Yukon Jack
1/2 gal Southern Comfort
16ea Cinnamon sticks
1 box of Candied Ginger
1 tablespoon whole cloves
1 tablespoon Allspice Berries
2 medium lemons

Instructions: Place one gallon of apple juice in a large 4+ gallon stock pot and add 8 whole cinnamon sticks, 2 pieces of coarse chopped candied ginger, whole cloves, allspice berries and the zest of one lemon. Bring to boil on medium heat then turn down and simmer for 10 minutes. Allow to cool thoroughly then strain mixture and return to stock pot. Add the remaining apple juice, juice of one lemon, Southern Comfort and Yukon Jack, stirring completely. To store, use the empty gallon apple juice containers. To each container add 2 cinnamon sticks and a couple of strips of lemon zest from second lemon. Ladle the mixture into the containers through a funnel so you don't spill a precious drop! Can be consumed immediately but best to let sit in a darkened location so the flavors have time to mingle. Enjoy!!!!! If you want a little more "kick", add a cup or two of 190 proof Everclear to the mix before putting in the jugs.
